The Essency EXR, on the other hand, uses a thermal transfer method that never dumps cold water on top of hot. Instead, it maintains a 55-gallon water tank that transfers its heat on-demand to your fresh water supply. This means that every ounce of stored heat in the tank can be used to send hot water into your home.
